Brandberg Backyard Ultra (BBU)

The Brandberg Backyard Ultra is Namibia’s premier ultra-endurance running event, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the country’s highest mountain, the Brandberg. As part of the global Backyard Ultra format, runners must complete a 6.7 km lap every hour, on the hour, until only one remains standing.

Launched to challenge athletes both physically and mentally, the event has quickly gained recognition as a true test of endurance, strategy, and resilience. It has also become a qualifier for the prestigious Backyard Ultra World Team Championships, showcasing Namibia’s rising talent on the world stage.
